Guys, I have 7 weddings this year. Like, say what? I am surprised I even have 7 friends, let alone invited to 7 of their weddings. Finding the perfect dress to rock to a wedding where you'll run into old friends, your ex-boyfriend, & your ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend (eh) is stressful - & it's crucial that you look damn good. Amen.

I never want to steal attention away from the bride so I gravitate towards dresses that are basic with a fun flare - whether it be the cut, color, or texture. I was debating whether to share this news but it's kind of awesome & you're awesome & I like sharing awesome news with awesome people.. basically. My best friend from high-school, Julie, is a top pastry chef in NYC, who rocks heels in the kitchen while whipping out delicious desserts for some of the top restaurants.

It has been amazing & inspiring watching her climb to the top at the young age of 25 & I couldn't be more proud of her. Especially since she is part of a new reality show, Playing With Fire, that airs on March 17th on the E! Network - gasp! She's the blonde bombshell rocking the red dress in the promo above. & what's even cooler.. is that I'm in it! I taped three episodes alongside my best gal friend - from shoe shopping to Sunday brunch. I may or may not have attempted to cough "allie wears dot com" under my breath once or twice, but we all know how reality TV goes - editing off the chain.

The oversized jacket - need I say more? A jacket that is purposely four sizes too big somehow morphs into a classy & defined look, oozing with power, confidence, & intelligence. Structured jackets have been all of the rave this winter - from leather sleeves, studded shoulders, to lengthwise zippers. But, not until I saw Christine from Fash-n-Chips rocking an oversized TopShop peacoat in her latest post that I momentarily decide that I need to have one. Like, right now. Typical.

So far, I have my eye on this & that.

radio fame

So, I co-hosted a radio show last month & it was.. so cool. My good friend, Brian, runs a weekly talk show on WATD 95.9 called "Friends with Benefits" & asked me to co-host a "How to Look & Feel Good in 2013" segment - sharing my knowledge of fashion & blogging with local listeners. To be honest, I was completely terrified knowing people I loved (& have never even met) were listening - eek! You know when you're so excited you basically black out? I barely remember introducing myself let alone talking about what I love for an hour... sigh.

Either way, I'd like to think I killed it & can't wait to do it again. I introduce myself (& my blog!) around the 10 minute mark - listen in!

You know those snow storms that are named after cartoon fish, dump 3 feet of snow (that I didn't shovel) on your doorstep, & rip NYFW plans straight from your recently manicured hands? I hate those snow storms. Staying positive, I was able to pack my sick camo backpack for a blizzard party that was equipped with a power hour (so college), silly games of chess, & these Sorel beauties.

You'd be shocked to know I've lived in New England for 25 years & have never owned a pair of snow boots - do Uggs suffice? I waited in line for literally 20 minutes debating whether to buy these Sorel's, considering high heel platforms are my shoe of choice, but convinced myself that girls need cute snow boots just as much as they need camo backpacks.
